THE RIVER
The Guadalupe River stretches from Canyon Lake Dam for approximately 250 miles toward the coast. It has several recreational spots and has put Central Texas on the map. Tubing, whitewater rafting and kayaking in the crystal clear waters are very popular in the summer and there are many rental outfitters along the river, including one right next door to the house. Another very popular past time on the Guadalupe is fly fishing. Each year around Thanksgiving the river is stocked with trout, our house sits in the middle of Trout Zone 2.
THE GOOD LIFE
Billy Goat's Bluff House is approximately 15min from Historic Gruene, Home to the famous live music venue, Gruene Hall.
New Braunfels, home to Schlitterbahn water park and the crystal clear Comal river and tube chute are also a mere 15min away.
If you are in the mood to boat or water ski, Canyon Lake is also just a 20min drive away.
